Political Correctness
At our school me and my Christian union had various plans on outreach for the school, fun games that had no "religious" ties to them, and also a "real easter" workshop being run at break that would be optional for all who wanted to know more about the real meaning of easter. Obviously, being a Christian group, we decided to uphold Christian values, and ask permission from the head of the school first, rather than just sticking the posters up and running them anyway (I voted for that, but the rest of the group disagreed). so we asked the head, who surprisingly denied our proposal, under the banner that it would "offend" people of other beliefs, and that it was breaking the "equality" of the school where race and beliefs come in. Now i don't know about you, but if i offered you the chance to look round school and find hidden tokens to exchange for easter eggs, I wouldn't say, NO!!, THATS RIDICULOUS, I'M GOING TO REPORT YOU TO THE HEAD, I'M SO OFFENDED!!. no, you would say, "thanks" and start looking, no matter what race or belief system your life is under. it is really true that political correctness has truly gone mad in our society, and all the people of influence anywhere are letting it run wild in there work places, especially when it is state run. our school CU's are in great danger of becoming extinct, or having so little power over being able to reach out into their environment that the point of a CU is lost. the great thing is, we serve an awesome god who is all powerful, and can do something about it. so please pray about this, not just for my situation, but for CU's in general, so that we can see young people come to Christ through there local CU as they have done in the past. thanks =)

I know what you mean, Jonny. So many people are being criticised and punished for "shoving their faith down people's throats", when in actual fact, often all they are doing is saying "Look, I'm a Christian and I love it. Why don't you find out what its about?" It's madness.
ReplyDeleteBut just remember all those in other parts of the world who are arrested and perhaps killed for their faith. These places where this happens are what we need to pray for, and the people with the courae to admit their faith in the face of persecution. Pray that they will be released from their horrible situation.
Damn, only just noticed how long this comment is. Sorry.
i know its very late to say this, im not saying that is not importent, but in our sociaty "political corectness" and "law" are geting in the way of god. The govenment are supressing evrything that the church are aloud to do, and ading rules that should never be added.
ReplyDeletethe bible says clearly that its not right to be gay, and yet the govenrnment say that it is discrimination to say that gay people cant be preists. then because of equal opertunity and freedom of mindset, we may not be able to teach children about god, to enable them to make a "non-biased" choice on their religion.
we need to keep thoes under opression in other conterys in our prayers yes, but we have been placed where we are by god to make a difference in that spesific area, as much as we can say its worse in other places, we cant have a direct impact there, however we have so much influence where we are that we cant aford to discard it for the sake of saying its far worse over the occean (im not sayin that is what you think, but i know manny that do)
thanks for your input :)
